Well, as you can see the new semester has started and I'm still here. Some might consider that a good thing but I have nine more months of hell to go threw before the hard stuff begins.
I'm not as old as I believe I am. In fact, a dear friend just brought this epiphany to my attention. "I look in the mirror and see my own immaturity in the reflection". That pretty much sums it up in a nut shell. I've learned to stand and take the repercussions for my actions but there are times I wish to curl up in a ball and just cry. The "I want my daddy" syndrome has not quite purged itself from my system and I hate myself for it. However, I have found those much older than myself that suffer from this syndrome and that does make me feel better.
Being told to stand and take it like a man has little meaning to a woman and therefore, living in a man's world does have it's quirks. It also has it's perks since I found a tailor that fits my uniforms just a tad snug. That has quite a bit of advantages in itself. Of course in fatigues I look like Beetle Baily with boobs. If I sound bitter it's because I still feel like I don't fit in this man's Army. Right now, seeing Colorado in the news, I'm glad I didn't go to the Air Force Academy. I shall make it threw this and then spend the rest of my carear bossing privates and eating in the officers mess.
Being an avid insomniac does have some perks. I can write all night as well as study and still make morning formation and class. I have yet to fall asleep in my oatmeal and grits but there is still plenty of time to make an ass of myself. I'll keep you posted on those choice moments as well.
